据监控录像显示，当时，其中一男子在去调料台拿碗时， 顺手将玻璃碴放在碗里，之后还将玻璃碴放到麻酱桶里，制造麻酱桶中有碎玻璃的假象。
警方经侦查后锁定四名嫌疑男子，他们在五个月时间内，连续在北京、承德等地的五家海底捞门店， 多次碰瓷、恶意索赔，所涉诈骗金额一万余元。目前，嫌疑人因涉嫌敲诈勒索罪已被北京警方刑事拘留。
